It has been a bad time for dictators the last two years.
You forgot the North Korean dictators, a bunch of North Africans, and a few middle easterners.Uzique wrote:

Nah, we just feed them the same stuff we feed the lower class Americans.
By lower class americans he means blacks.rdx-fx wrote:

Lower class Americans come in all different colors.
'massah just gives us a selection of chains to choose from, depending on our colors.

I don't know what people's conception of freedom is that makes them think one of the freest most individualist places in the world is still enslaving them.rdx-fx wrote:

individualism =/= freedom, not today anyway

Pretty much, social liberty =/= economic liberty.
They are inextricably linked.unnamednewbie13 wrote:

They are related, but not the same thing.
How do you define economic liberty?

Freedom to security in the pursuit and acquisition of wealth and material possessions; a pillar of social/civil liberty, but not the same thing.
That's an extremely narrow viewpoint. Economic liberty is not just being free to pile up as much crap as you want, it's about the freedom of choice. It's things like companies not being overburdened with regulations designed by their competitors to limit competition (state chartered health insurance companies as an example). The government forcing companies to provide health insurance is another example. All these things restrict options, restrict choice, and restrict freedom. It's no different from a social conservative coming in and telling everyone they have to go to church every Sunday because they think it will improve society as a whole.

That's basically what I just said. You're overcomplicating it.
Hmmm... Looks like it's going to be Mitt v. Bama
