Honestly? Not a whole lot. The president doesn't really have much power. I think we'd see the most vetoes in history, and he might rescind some Executive Orders, but it's really Congress that has all the power and they are too in love with themselves to ever give up an ounce of it.

nah deadset almost none of my positions have changed. okay, the underlying ideology is now clearer but my issue-by-issue positions have remained basically the same. but i divorce those from ideology anyway so maybe that can happen.

It's a bad gauge. Don't think too much into it.

Instead of relying on concrete positions on issues it relies on agree or disagree choices. That could work if they didn't have the somewhat and strongly options. Your mood and recent events can change how strongly to agree or disagree on something. Add to that how each options doesn't just send you in one direction. Each different choice sends you in two directions. Because each choice sends you in two directions and your modd can affect your choices, you can have wide swings.

Besides the questions are pretty vague. It's hard to condense a complex political view into a single question with an agree or disagree option.

Honestly I think a bigger problem is that there are some big issues there which are somewhat underrepresented.

I'm just surprised because for 5 years or so, from about 2004-2009 I was pretty steady at the exact mirror image of that. Only the last year or two that the graph has shifted.

I remember taking the political compass test. I also remember these irrelevant questions:

Abstract art that doesn't represent anything shouldn't be considered art at all.
Astrology accurately explains many things.
Some people are naturally unlucky.
Let's see where I stand today:

Let's see where I stand today:

Some people are naturally unlucky is a right wing view point. Rat race mentality is that they don't deserve to be helped, it's their fault, if you help the naturally unlucky you're hindering those who are successful on their own merits, etc.

Left wing mentality is that the system is designed to make others fail (eg you'll never see 100% employment rate), it's not your fault you were born into a poor family with little access to education, etc. So those who do fail through no fault of their own should be compensated.

I have no idea how the astrology or abstract art comes into it though. But the naturally unlucky is pretty straight forward.
