So they should provide shitty fatty foods instead of healthy food? Jay, I thought you would approve this because it means less people would be relying on getting fed by the government. Plus, that underground thriving market for snack and junk food is just the type of free market you champion on this board.

I don't see how anyone could disagree with the decision of the school district to move towards healthier lunches.

What a terrible ad. That's precisely the wrong way to advocate military isolationism. That ad plays into the 'he's a blame America first libertarian' argument

There's better ways to go about it than regurgitating Whole Foods fads on kids that have no experience with any of it. Quinoa? Really? Why not Bulgar wheat? Or alfalfa sprouts? All they are teaching kids is that health food tastes like shit. You can make healthy food that doesn't taste like cardboard. It's just not as 'exciting' or 'exotic' as vegetarian curries

how do you know they are regurgitating whole foods fads.  Veggie curries and quinoa are really good if made right.  Did you ever eat school lunches?  You're not going to see Wolfgang Puck with a hair net preparing an artisan pizza there.

School lunch was fucking awful when I was a kid. The highlight was pizza fridays when they served a slice of Elio's with syrupy canned fruit and a paper ramekin full of overly vinegared salad.

Whole foods fads - Making everything gluten free when only ~0.2% of the population has celiac's disease (this ties into the love for obscure grains like quinoa). Making everything dairy free when ~10% of the American population is lactose free. It's Political Correctness brought to food: in order to please everyone they make food as bland and unappetizing as possible. It's the quickest way to turn those kids off to healthy food for the rest of their life.

They did the whole make dinners healthy thing here thanks to Jamie Oliver.

Every single dinner we had to climb a fence so we could go out of school and get our own dinner.

Jamie Oliver needs a good thrashing.

He just needs a bit more apathy, he still has all the youthful idealism of a 20 year old and he's like 40.

Did you see this? I thought it was funny as hell.

He's such a fucking snob when it comes to food it makes me sick. Aside from the cartilage, there was nothing wrong whatsoever with the meat. If all anyone ever ate was the breast it would be a horrific waste. It's like saying the only useful part of a cow is the filet mignon.

There's definitely a happy medium to strive towards. I'd rather them supply healthy-ish food than glorified junk food.

The article specifically mentioned whole wheat and throwing out cartons of milk. Where are you pulling this gluten and lactose free stuff from? Or are you referencing something else?

It's how quinoa came into the picture. It's a gluten free 'wheat alternative'.

There's nothing wrong with serving healthier food, they just went the all-in train-wreck route that is guaranteed to fail. The listed menu looked like it had been designed by the PTA board of Laguna Beach

The skin is where the flavour is at, if I'm cooked roast chicken I always ask for the skin.

Funny response from the kids though.

He explained it as him not writing it and not ever reading his own letter. In that case it throws into question his level of competency. Not knowing what your people are writing under your name doesn't seem responsible. Either way it's bad.

Needless to say I am enjoying this immensely. Screw Paul.

Use the whole animal, I guess. Can't get greener than that. Doesn't mean I want to order McNuggets, though.

But what's wrong with cartilage? You're probably going to inadvertently eat it with a steak, so...

Nothing I guess. If it's not digestible it just goes in your poop anyway, like most plant matter.

No Paul does suck a huge cock. His economic plan would rape the economy many times worse than Obama can or did. His national security policy would be a step backwards. On social issues he is no better than any of the other republicans.

There is nothing for me to like there
