Gov Mitch Daniels from Indiana seems like a decent choice for the GOP, certainly a lot better than that asshat Donald Trump.

It's really fucking sad that Donald Trump has a legitimate shot. Compare his statements from 10 years ago to the statements he makes nowadays, especially on health care - he flip flops like your typical politician. Absolute joke. I think he's flipping and coming off as more and more neocon in order to do what he can to get the nomination since he's getting older. Nobody who supports UHC would ever get the Republican nomination.

There's absolutely no solid candidate out there. Huckabee's gonna get it and then lose to Obama. Way I see it happening.

Any candidate that is a birther in any way, shape or form should be lined up and shot. It's an absolute disgrace that there even though it's been debunked hundreds of thousands of times, people still go on about this. It just shows they can't really argue Obama's policies but they have to attack him themselves. And it's a shame, because there's quite a bit you can argue about Obama's policies. Still pissed the darkie beat the white war hero I guess.

Oh yeah. He's a whore for money, and he does it well. His stances are out of the "Book on Republican Ideologies" to a point of absurdity. His standpoints are so artificial that there's no way he can be serious. I don't think I've ever seen anyone so blindly proclaim ideologies he doesn't believe in just to get elected from the republican side. He should run as a democrat.

As for who would be a good candidate, really can't say. Obama will most likely win a second term, he sucks, but he has enough support not to be a one term president. Most likely GOP will realize this and put up a martyr so they can run a more feasible candidate once Obama isn't around, like Democrats did with John Kerry.

Donald Trump is not a birther, he just says he is to keep media attention on him and to make him seem interested in politics and a possible candidate. He does this because it's free advertising which makes him money. He will not run for President because then he'd have to disclose what he's actually worth, which from what I understand is several billion dollars shy of what he'd like you to think.

He'd also be an awful candidate, which is presumably why WarMan and his parents think he's such a good choice.

Thats stupid. He shouldn't be impeached. They let him run and he ran fair and square, meaning he is now President.
They should however clarify the rules and have Presidential candidates produce a birth certificate before their name can be put on any ballot.
Birth certificates are not hard to obtain. They are especially easy to obtain if you know where your birth certificate is kept. I know exactly where mine is and its the same one that was given to my parents the day I was born.

Its kind of like when I went to write my exam today. You need to show valid proof of who you are and that you are attending that class. They come around with a sheet before you write the exam and look at your student card and tick off your name, and you put your signature beside it confirming you are who you are. But everyone who obtained their degree before this system was implemented doesn't automatically lose their degree because the rules change after the fact the process was finished.
