Yeah Kalgoorlie is the town the show is based on and it has paved roads. Its got paved roads coming into town but some remote towns/all mine sites are dirt road access only.

All the major highways in the outback are paved. But considering 90% of the population lives on the east coast, it's not really worth paving all the roads around areas where maybe a couple of dozen people live.

There are areas the size of France and Germany combined that have less then 1000 people living there. The larger towns may have paved roads, but what kind of retard would spend billions to pave the thousands of kilometres of transport links and smaller towns which would benefit practically no one.

Katherine 10,095 (50 km²?)

That leaves about 35,000-40,000 living in the other 1,420,500 km²

France: 674,843 km²
Spain: 504,030 km²
Germany: 357,021 km²

An area as large as France Spain and Germany combined. Which have a combined population of 190,000,000. So please where the fuck are they going to get the money?
