Normally takes me about 12 hours before contacts get too uncomfortable to wear, probably about 10 before I want to take them out though.
My glasses just don't seem right after wearing contacts for a couple of years, I wear them in the evenings but I'm always aware they're on, especially when I go out and can feel the wind blowing around them and the metal getting cold, plus there's the need to clean them.
I'm first in line for hover feet, etc. I see no reason we shouldn't use scientific advances to improve ourselves, but there has to be limits I suppose.
e: doubt anyone here would turn down (hypothetical) eye drops that contained nano bots that fixed any problems you had with your eyes, permanently, and maintained them for as long as you lived.
