I will say that the original letter seems to be against anon's motives. I'm not entirely convinced that any of the letters, including the so called response, was sent from WBC. WBC is so full of themselves I doubt that they could swallow their pride long enough to even form such a letter.. although I'm sure they don't have a problem with swallowing in general. Yes they troll for personal gain, but tbh I think there is actually some sincerity behind the filth they spew. I also don't think that such scheming and internet know how is within the their goat-fucking-intellectual-grasp. I think it's more likely that it is anon playing games with anon.Additionally, as your "Press Release" failed to understand: When Anonymous says we support free
speech, we mean it. We count Beatrice Hall among our Anonymous forebears: "I disapprove of what
you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."
Do some among our number hate you and your cynical exploitation of your human rights for monetary
gain? Of course. But the MoralFags are also the first to admit that they are, in fact, your rights to
exploit.

Sigh. It would have been nice for Anon to attack the WBC instead of, for instance, eleven year old girls on YouTube. Oh well.
See this is why I know Anon and I would never get along. I know it's a dangerous thought but I sincerely believe that there should be limits on free expression. In the WBC's case, let them say what they want on their website or to their own congregation but draw the line at their ridiculous demonstrations. "I disapprove of what you say but I'll defend to the death your right to say it" can't extend to them, both Voltaire and Hall would have balked at the kind of shit they pull.
There are limits set on free speech. You can have a restraining order placed on them. If their goal is to inflict emotional distress against someone who is grieving at a funeral you better believe that is harassment. In some instances verbal assault can land the attacker a charge of hate crime. The punishments associated with such a crime are serious. Personally, I will not defend anyone's right to verbally abuse someone who is in the weakest condition imaginable, at a funeral.Ty wrote:

On Tuesday, the Arizona legislature proposed a piece of legislation designed to block the church's followers from disrupting the ceremonies of the victims. Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer later signed the bill, which bars protests within 300 feet of a funeral and within an hour from its beginning or end.

I'm going to look up what some of those words mean, in the meantime I'd like to say I'm stoked that someone is fucking over the WBC.Uzique wrote:
it's not well written - it's terrible. so much tautology. it comes across as if anonymous are literally trying to imitate the verbiose vichysoisse of 'v for vendetta'... badly.
