I will say that the original letter seems to be against anon's motives. I'm not entirely convinced that any of the letters, including the so called response, was sent from WBC. WBC is so full of themselves I doubt that they could swallow their pride long enough to even form such a letter.. although I'm sure they don't have a problem with swallowing in general. Yes they troll for personal gain, but tbh I think there is actually some sincerity behind the filth they spew. I also don't think that such scheming and internet know how is within the their goat-fucking-intellectual-grasp. I think it's more likely that it is anon playing games with anon.

See this is why I know Anon and I would never get along. I know it's a dangerous thought but I sincerely believe that there should be limits on free expression. In the WBC's case, let them say what they want on their website or to their own congregation but draw the line at their ridiculous demonstrations. "I disapprove of what you say but I'll defend to the death your right to say it" can't extend to them, both Voltaire and Hall would have balked at the kind of shit they pull.

See that's what I reckon too but these kinds of groups always wrap themselves up in their First Amendment rights and people seem all too willing to accept this. This is a huge exploitation of the US Constitution at best and using it as toilet paper at worst.

And Doc Strangelove - no matter how much of a little prick Slaughter was being - she was what, 11? 12? There is no reason, no reason whatsover to defend the mental and emotional torture of a young girl. Hell, we all did stupid things as kids and while most people wouldn't do it on something as public as YouTube, (others of us thankfully not able to do so when we were kids,) no-one would be expected to bear the sort of abuse she did. That it happened is awful. That people are defending it is just disgusting.

I find those people to be worse than Islamic extremists tbh. But religious nutcases of any stripe are pretty much the worst society has to offer, IMO.
