anyone bought the new sim city?

Jumping has been a key element of the series since the first game, so nothing unexpected.KuSTaV wrote:
There is a lot of jumping in this game too.

wow
don't even change a thing. don't edit the engine, the code, the map designs, the weapons, anything. minimal work. get your art/graphics department on a quick texture update, patch the engine as needs fit to be able to load/run updated visuals... and re-release, for £20 smackers. i predict millions of disillusioned pc gamers will come back.
too bad ro2 itself is a buggy mess, especially for ladder play, with config exploits, people getting booted for low settings, and whatnot.FFLink wrote:

Some good points.

well if the engine ran smoother, would said "momentum" movement mechanics really be a hinderance to competitive? I just see it as being different, even CS has a slight delay for acceleration in movement anyways (sv_accelerate and whatnot)Uzique The Lesser wrote:
RO2 is nowhere near cod2. the movement and engine are horrible. you can NOT make a competitive game out of an fps that feels so fundamentally bulky and 'restricted'. and i don't mean out of 'hurr durr carrying weight' realism - it's just not a smooth running engine. just like for the same reason bf3, all balance and learning curve aside, couldn't really be a proper competitive fps game. something about the engine's movement and animations just made it feel borked, too heavy. most modern games tend to be like this, for some reason... gone is the fine 300fps quake/unreal engine gliding of the early call of duty or source engine games. now you're trapped in a nightmare of lower fps and terrible responsiveness.
