Notice democrats are Quoting Reagan all of a sudden ?

I give obama a lot of license because in my way of thinking, The President if above the parties or could/should be. Also obama is scrambling now and trying to put together something to retain power and relevance.

Now I hear charles schummer ( who I will admit I detest ) Quoting Reagan in a Reverent way. I can not Remember a democrat ever having anything good to say about Reagan or his policies. What do you suppose this is about ? schummer quotes Reagan and suddenly we will forget who he is and what he stands for ? I realizes that is how he gets elected but conservatives did not vote for him. Does he expect his democrat liberal base to dismiss this as a mean to an end ? Does he think they will just forget it all if Paris Hilton poses nude or some other distraction takes center stage in the Networks ? How long till they start lauding G.W.Bush ?

I believe they hate Reagan so much for how far up on a pedestal his vehement supporters have put him. There are plenty of people who will, with a straight face, rank Reagan as one of the top 3 presidents. Ever.

G. W. Bush, much less so...he's easy prey, and the Republicans distanced themselves from him somewhat. It's not as fun to bash a guy who isn't entirely loved by his "team".

They probably think it will work, or else why would they be doing it? Politicians say whatever their campaign staffers tell them to say. And they tell them to say things to sway popular opinion and/or win votes. I think you're looking into this too deeply.
