Look at the grade and do the math. Once you jump up an income grade, you get taxed an additional 15% I think.
bit fucking retarded. In Aus it's a fairer progressive system where if you jump a grade it doesnt make that much of a difference coz youre paying X amount + x%per dollar over X amount.cpt.fass1 wrote:

There is nothing "fair" about our tax system.

Welcome to big government.
Luckily my state has no income tax... but our counties virtually make up for it.Cybargs wrote:

It's funny the US had a revolution over taxes and now they pay almost the same amount as Euros when you add up state, local and federal taxes.

I would claim the argument over what your taxes are spent on is a tad more important than the actual tax rate ... do you get value for your money?
Wait behind the line ..............................................................
Surprise surprise, our fed is inefficient. Not exactly groundbreaking news. Unfortunately it would seem this is a byproduct of government size.
The state however is at least a little more efficient/sustainable.. both my state and county offer health insurance discounted and sometimes free. The same goes for prescriptions depending on your economic situation.

http://www.floridadiscountdrugcard.com/The Hillsborough County Health Care Plan is a comprehensive managed care plan for indigent residents with incomes up to 100% of the federal poverty level who do not qualify for other coverage. Services are delivered by a network that includes 600 primary care physicians, 12 clinics and 5 hospitals. Mental health, dental and other ancillary services also are provided through contracts with public and private providers. The program, enabled by state statute, was funded with a ½ cent sales tax approved by the County Commission.
Financed through a state authorized statute allowing a ½ cent sales tax approved by the County Commission, along with $26.8 million per year in property taxes as mandated by the State of Florida to fund indigent care. After just 4-1/2 years of operation (1993-1997), the Plan was so successful that the County decreased the sales tax to ¼ cent while saving property owners increases in property taxes.

Our fed just needs a chance to flex it's muscle and show what it really can do ! and with obama guiding it to boot !Kmar wrote:
