Don't know what kinds of hands you have, but Wikipeda has 24 instances of anti-abortion related terrorism in the US....

Sorry, I was reading Wikipedia wrong - I just counted the number of examples and missed the bit where they have the totals. A more sensible figure is about 1000 since 1977 (figures from various sources vary, but all are high - actual bombings, around 40 - 100). The Religion of Peace website, which I seem to remember you're a fan of, has about 45 instances of Islamic related terrorism in the US over the same period.

You must have some weird looking hands.....

Taking one day out of the equation (one anomalous event doesn't equate to a significant trend), more from Christian related bombing than Islamic ones.

In fact that's not even necessary, since that wasn't a bombing - in fact no one (other than the one suicide bomber in Oklahoma who was killed himself) has been killed in Islamic bombings in the US, whereas they have in Christian abortion clinic bombings....

Why not?

Just because one thing is more hyped than the other doesn't make it a bigger threat or mean it's more common.

If you have figures supporting your beliefs on this, rather than your gut feeling on this, then please do share them...

Oh I see, so the 3000 dead from Islamic terrorism doesn't count because it wasn't a bombing?  Got it, well then you win. Christians are far more deadly and fanatical in this world than Muslims.
Let me ask, can we count the USS Cole, or the 2 embassies and their deaths in this?

You said bombings, which was why I made that edit. 1 dead Muslim suicide bomber as a result of Islamic bombings in the US.

They weren't (geographically) in the US. So it wouldn't give a very accurate picture of what actually happens in the US to include embassies.

In any event, taking one isolated incident does nothing to prove any sort of trend, which is what is important here. The trend is that Christian terrorism is more prolific in the US than Islamic terrorism. One incident, no matter how serious or tragic, cannot prove a trend.

As I said, the 3000 dead do not count because it wasn't a bombing, you win.

I can only trust that, if there were a Christian motivated attack that killed 3000, we would not be listing it as deaths from Christian extremism either right? because well, killing 3000 at a crack isn't a trend?

There is and Islamic terrorism globally is far more frequent than Christian terrorism - but the discussion here is about the US, not the rest of the world, so that's not directly relevant.

The fact is that there is more Christian terrorism in the US than Islamic terrorism, despite the impression you may get from most media sources.

You bunch of insipid cunts. Why does every single thread in this hellhole invariably end up hosting post after pointless post regurgitating the same bullshit about terrorism and religion? There have been so many iterations of the "Christian terrorism versus Islamic terrorism" drudgery on this forum that surely the usual participants are starting to bore even themselves.

Might wanna cut back on the sugar. If you actually are getting pissed off by other peoples discussions you are not part of, you might wanna rethink just how important the internet is to you.

Well, personally, I was attempting to steer the discussion toward a discussion of Islamism as a political movement vs. Christianity's influence in American politics.

In both cases, most people who push for religion in politics aren't terrorists or terror sympathizers, but they do often hold extreme stances on political issues.   That's where I see the similarities between the two.  Likewise, a greater involvement of both Christianity and Islam in politics tends to lead towards the restriction of personal freedoms.

I apologize but the same accusations of being a gun nut, racist, war mongering islamophobe warrants the same responses. Why don't you and your friends try to argue against the actual points made and maybe you will get different responses.
