Oscar-nominated British actor Pete Postlethwaite has died at the age of 64, a spokesman has announced.

Didn't catch this before, just saw it on my news site. A bloody shock, Pete Postlethwaite was a fantastic and unique actor. Didn't even know he had cancer.

He was in the first "live-action' film I remember seeing as a kid - a straight-to-TV Treasure Island movie which was incredibly incredibly well-casted, (Oliver Reed as Billy Bones, Christopher Lee as Blind Pew, Charlton Heston as Long John Silver, Pete Postlethwaite as George Merry, a young Christian Bale as Jim Hawkins.)
