I've taken it upon myself to explore the psychology behind the Third Reich. It's rather easy to attribute their action to being just "evil". That doesn't make any sense on a topical level to me. Yes, I understand the basics of what happened, psychologically. .. but nearly everything I read (which has been A Lot) or watched since grade school has been interpreted from the outside looking in. I'm looking to flip it, in order to fully comprehend the history of Nazi Germany.

yeah I get what you mean. Obviously what they did is evil but the myopic view some people look at it with is idiotic. If we can't understand WHY it all happened the way it did we certainly can't be expected to prevent something similar from happening again.

Consider that the Germans were given a raw deal with the Armistice treaty and it should be easier.

I've read this http://www.amazon.com/Churchill-Hitler- … 030740515X .. but even that book seemed agenda driven from the start. Then I heard the author basically get skewered by Phil Hendrie on the radio once, and it was hard for me to take his comments seriously after hearing his argument get destroyed.

I think it's fascinating. Unfortunately most WWII documentaries are focused on military strategy, filling the gaps with Japanese zero's getting shot down. It's hard to find material that focuses on the psychological aspects. The DVD's I have coming are from the BBC, which is usually less boom boom pow. .. like we see on the Discovery and History Channel.
