Well, by now... no. This next batch contains so much info they might aswell blow up wikileaks before they start releasing top secret documents.

He's aiding and abetting terrorists by posting information they can use in the war against us while also trying to undermine our ability on the world stage. Assange is a fucking moron and I hope he meets an assassins bullet tbh.
I thought I was on my own here. I'm all in favour of rooting out corruption, but this doesn't seem to be doing that at all, it's just exposing anything with secret written on it. At least the video of the Apaches blowing up some journalists you could sort of justify it as a moral reason. Their analysis of the video was completely wrong, but still. I was getting pissed off with all the hero worship that's going on on Reddit and other websites for this guy.
I'm all about free speech, but not when it comes at the expense of human lives. The information he has posted has undoubtedly already led to deaths in Afghanistan. Whether it's Afghan tribesmen or coalition soldiers, he has blood on his hands. Assange is a murderer, not a hero.
That's abit dramatic, at the end of the day it's a war going on. So the people responsible for the deaths are the guys who initiated it in the first place. People can be blamed for making things worse indirectly, but it's not much in the scope of the entire conflict itself.

No, it's not dramatic at all. He might as well be working for the Taliban and Al Quaeda and should be treated as at the very least an enemy combatant at this point.

They know exactly what was leaked. They've known since the day he was caught. The US government isn't surprised by these leaks, they're just rightfully pissed off.

Regardless of freedom of speech Assange is merely tarnishing the US when it is attempting to reintegrate with other countries and settle differences and is putting people's lives and diplomatic relations at risk so he can look like a righteous crusader. Ironic how he says America should be held to account for its actions when his activities only cause damage and distrust.

Shahter rather than sighing or facepalming and rolling your eyes at how brainwashed by propaganda we are provide some valid motives other than the ones we've already established as probable and logical.

I'm open minded but I'm not about to jump on the conspiracy theory bandwagon and blames jews/us government/terrorists/illuminati/other government for this.

Here's a wild theory, occasional "small timers" and low ranks get this kind of intelligence and this guy happened to decide to leak it...

Pretty much.  That one leak that didn't edit out the names of some of our allies got several Afghani leaders killed.

Ego does not equal wisdom.  Shahter will sometimes bring up good points, but he unfortunately has a tendency to let his arrogance blind him.

Pissed? Try scared shitless. Sure is no surprise that duplicity is the very basis of US foreign policy, we all know it but proof like this is what we all wanted.
So as of now anyone who opposes this exposure is in fact supporting duplicity.

the thing is though that you think by having more years on us, and by flitting between political ideologies like an amsterdam hooker changes underwear, that you're somehow accruing more 'knowledge' and more 'wisdom'. that's surely just your ego slowly inflating through a process of intellectual posturing, half-assed research and toying with new ideas? how do you qualify your 'wisdom'? just because you've turncoated a bunch of times and have revised your opinions on a few matters? that's not wisdom - you could just as easily say that it's simply being indecisive. perhaps even lazy and ill-informed, for some people.

Not really.  Perspective is what is needed.  Assange clearly has a grudge against America.  If he focused his energy more evenly between the various regimes of the world that could be construed as oppressive, then he'd be a true whistleblower.

As things currently stand though, he's just aiming for the biggest target.  He also is aiming for a target that is less willing to just kill him outright.

You can be sure that if he exposed more about say...  the Chinese government, he would be dead by now.

Haha, my friend just likened Julian Assange to the worlds first Super Villain non-state actor. Like the Cobra Commander.

I don't know what the US government is thinking but they're probably either unable to do anything to wikileaks as of yet or they're afraid of what the public and media will say as soon as they take down wikileaks.
