No, I think your view is stupid. I think you only hold it because you aren't getting laid

Of course. I am getting married here in a bit though. Kids are planned.

Well, at least you're planning them.  Half of the time, people don't even seem to bother with that.

Yeah, until they are your kids.  Colic, etc. situations where you can't make them stop crying.  You plan on staying in First Class and sending your infants to the back rows on coach?

Kinda hard if its a 12+ hour flight I just stay up all flight from Taiwan to USA (leaves at 6pm arrives at 3pm...) to reclock my jet lag and sleep all flight from USA to Taiwan (Leaves at 1am arrives at 6am)
15+ hour flights for me...  Noise cancelling headphones, FTW.  But doesn't really help, because Asian airlines always wake you up every 3 hours anyways to feed.

My kid is fine and it makes me happy when I see others his age acting like asshats (he's 7).  Did I take him to restaurants as an infant?   Fuck no.  People work hard and want a nice relaxing evening out sans screaming kids.  Babysitter them until they grasp the concept of self control.

But it is a lost cause.... If a parent can't be bothered to control their children and doesn't give a fuck what they do -do you honestly think they care about about your opinion?
I stood in line for four hours. They better give me a Wal-Mart gift card, or something.  - Rodney Booker, Job Fair attendee.

It's obviously not feasible for every carrier or every flight, but I think a "family section" is in order on larger planes and/or longer flights...while noise cancelling headphones will do the job well, I've heard some really fucking loud kids on planes before.

The TSA is also pushing for child-free flights.

I don't see the problem with a "family section" for longer flights...it could make for a more relaxing environment for everyone.  I think it can be very stressful when your kid starts getting loud...then that leads to tension that is easily picked up on by the child which leads to more crying or yelling or whatever.

But child free flights won't happen...they need to jam the planes full of whoever they can fit to make any money.

Used to feel the same way before I had my own.  Once you do ... if you choose to do so ... your understanding will adjust the sensitivity of your ears.   Of course, when they get past the crying stage to the speaking stage, that does help.

That is, if you're actually really a woman.

When flying out to Oz I was due to fly at 8pm, the plane came in with a fault and it was obvious we weren't going anywhere - but they kept us waiting until 1am and then decided to put us in a hotel

By the time buses were sorted out and we were checking in it was 2am, some guy at the back with a 2 and 4 yr old announced 'I have to get my kids to bed, we're going to the front of the queue unless anyone objects'. No-one said anything so off they went.

I'm not sure if that was an asshole thing to do, it was in the interests of the kids and I can see his point - adults can take a late night much better.
OTOH Taking a kid on 24hrs of almost continuous air travel is pretty harsh in the first place, and it was his choice not mine.

Did you really went from defending babies and praising breastfeeding as the most natural act ever to insult women in the most ridiculous way? Pretty low

Nope, just my personal experience.
And my fiancée can confirm that after our two children.

I went to Spain a few years back via a coach. Took 25 hours to get there and I had a crying, asshole kid behind me the whole way.

You can guess my position on this subject...

I'm more concerned about fat people, they could die during the flight, block the escape hatch like a cork, and they usually whine like babies.
