good morning hurricat!

for the first couple of years after i passed my test, my parents refused to let me drive ANYWHERE on a friday or saturday night, not even to a pub or club, which would have been understandable, but ANYWHERE!!! They initially said for the first sixth months, so i was like, well thats annoying but fair enough. It went on for TWO YEARS!!!

Their excuse was "it's not that we don't trust you, we don't trust the other people on the road". BUT if they needed to go to dinner or drinks with their friends, they would ask me to drop them off and pick them up on a friday night! When i was like oh how come i'm allowed to drive if it suits you, their answer was because we're in the car so its safer. Which pretty much ruled out their excuse of "its not you, it's other people" cos them being in the car would not change the likelihood of anyone else crashing in to me. RIDICULOUS. Now i bought my own car they can't stop me anymore

I once drove from North Carolina to New York City in a Camaro doing 70 mph through a blizzard the whole way Now THAT was exhilarating!
