But back on topic: Poseidon, you should look for a chance to study abroad at Royal Holloway and meet very interesting and unique people, preferably named Aaron. I believe he said he doesn't behave like someone with antisocial personality disorder when he's not the internet.
I'd pick Rome. Not so much for Rome, but the easy travel to better places to visit. Milan, Paris, Monaco, and such.
think you're talking about flaming maniac with that... i have never stated or claimed to have a social disorderDesertFox- wrote:

So I got a little bit more information from my Spanish professor today. She organizes it and was totally raving about it.
1) To prepare for it, I can take SPA154. It's a semester long course where you learn all about Argentina and it's culture, the foods, the people, the politics... everything Argentina. It's a 3 credit course and then on Spring Break, you got on a 9 day trip to Argentina for $3150.
2) Then there's an actual Study Abroad program to Argentina. It costs about $14000 for the whole semester... that's less than my tuition to Pace, AND my scholarships would carry over and apply to it.
Thoughts?

No matter what, do a basic course in language before anything, if you don´t speak spanish that is.

Yeah knowing the language is far more helpful than knowing something about the culture. Even if you did high school Spanish, unless you're fluent it's probably a good idea to refresh it a little.
That first option is probably a gigantic waste of time. Information about others' culture learned from afar is generally wrong and/or outdated. It would be like someone coming to this country and making pop culture references to Dawson's Creek.

Dawson's Creek is totally part of American culture. Every day that show seems to be the underscore of some joke.
Cultural education isn't a waste seeing as he has no idea what he's getting into. Outdated or not, some intelligence is better than zero.

Go for the second option. Nine days in Argentina under school supervision isn't worth a whole course worth of study and $3k. I spent three weeks in Argentina and got along just fine without a college course.

My cousin is living down there right now. Last year it was Costa Rica. He's a programmer so he can work remotely and he's doing it where it's cheap while making NYC wages Having fun too.Superior Mind wrote:

7th-10th grade with an 85 on the Regents. Yet I felt like I'd forgotten it all when I had my first 102 class this semesterSuperior Mind wrote:
