how many people actually do this stuff? not a single person i know has any of this "disaster" planning
I don't plan for the 'zombie apocalypse' or anything like that. I have a shotgun and a few ammo cans full of shells for them...but not for survival but because bulk buying tends to be cheaper and I don't go shooting that often.
However, I do plan for the possibility of getting stuck in the snow. I keep a sleeping bag, 2 MREs, flashlight, basic first aid kit, basic tool kit, shovel and never let my car go below a half tank of gas in the winter. I do plan to get a pack of road flares as well. Basically, I have enough to make sure I probably won't die of exposure if I got stuck in a blizzard in the middle of nowhere in western New York. All this stull pretty much fits inside a tupperware bungied into my trunk. It's worth having since blizzards happen around where I live, and sometimes you just get stuck.
