I'm fairly certain that your comparison of Palin and Buckley just made him roll over in his grave.

not rly.  without obama they would have lost.
McCain was running for the same party as a very unpopular exiting president.  Even without Obama, the Democrats had the advantage.  When McCain selected Palin as his running mate, that pretty much sealed the deal.

By most estimates at the time, Clinton actually had a better shot at the presidency.  The only catch was that she was less popular among her own party.

I still voted for Obama during the primaries though.

I love the ad campaign currently running that paints Mormonism as a moderate, mainstream religion.

*shrugs*  Obama was a nice change from the Clintonites.  Although, he seems to be moving in that direction now.

i love how mormons paint themselves out to be christian.

honestly, Romney i think would've dealt with the economic crisis better than McCain.

As crazy as some of Romney's social views are, I think his economic acumen is considerably better than most of his competition.

I just wish the GOP would come up with a candidate who isn't a religious nut or an interventionist.

I know some people would then mention Paul, but his economic views are somewhat nutty (and he's a fucking creationist).

Kind of like NASCAR in some areas. Jeff Dunham said it's an easy sport to watch when you're hammered.

there were fears the capital would move to St. Paul's Basilica, but mormons are more ruthless than catholics if they think they can squeeze a buck out of you . . .
