As it stands people have to do long, painful and drawn out methods to end their lives. Euthanasia should be available and at a cheap price.
Say like somone tossing you a gun?
Too slow!

Guns are neither cheap nor widely available here.

No I could probably get one, no matter where you go though a firearm is always going to cost too much when you consider it's intended use. I think £50 is a fair price to end ones life in a painfree manner.

Less than $5. Pass the savings on to your kids.

Painfree being the keyword.

What's a few seconds of pain when you're never going to feel anything again? It's not like you take the pain with you.

Its not just a few seconds though. People want to end their lives with zero pain and somewhat of a decent looking corpse which rules heights out. They also obviously don't want to be spending £5000 on euthanasia or £500 on a gun and a lot of effort. In todays age is that really too much to ask?

What's the price of the chemicals used in legal euthanasia? I'm willing to bet nowhere near close to the full price they're charging now, £5k+

Cyanide is relatively cheap.

Even if you consider the price of 2x 1 hour professional evalutations, the time for the doctor and nurse and the injection itself it still shouldn't cost what it does. Dipose of me in a fire I won't care.

If you got a job you wouldn't think 5 grand was a large sum of money... IJS.

But you won't have to pay your rent or make your car payment that month! Hell, sell your car!

Good point...  I'd hopefully get more than 5k for my car.  It would be kind of sad if I didn't...

Yes I would. You don't regard 10k US as a lot then that's good for you, the majority do.

Not as a one time expense, no. If you can't gather up all your belongings and sell them for 10k...

You're moving away from my point. That point is the unreasonable and illogical price of euthanasia. If people can gather up all sell all their belongings then do you not think they'd rather give that money to their loved ones? I know I would. The price should be less than half of what it is, and it should be legal in progressive nations to cut out travel and accomodation expenses to switzerland.

And no I don't think I could get 10k us for my stuff. But that's just me.

I've already told you that you get what you pay for. You want a painless death and an open casket. That is obviously not cheap, but there are a multitude of other methods that are cheap, effective, and would lead to an open casket or a painless death, the two together have a price tag.

I just don't understand why you feel entitled to something just because you breathe. Ahh, breathing. Have someone smother you with a pillow in your sleep.

Well, if euthanasia was legalized here, then the cost of legal assisted suicide would be much lower than 10k.

Nope I don't want an open casket. The law requires family identify your body and i 'd like the process to be as easy as possible for relatives. Who cares what casket they get. Anyway you only "get what you pay for" because there's 1 fucking company in Switzerland doing this. So I reiterate, logical, progressive nations should be moving forward with this and quantity alone will drive the price down.

I don't feel entitled to anything so you can spare me some lowing-esque rant. I merely believe the price could, and should be cheaper than what it currently is.

Despite popular opinion about suicide being "selfish" people do consider other people. I'd want to leave as much as possible to my mother and i'd probably want to leave my organs to medicine. Anyway if you're not seeing the point after like 5 posts then you're not going to.
