Pretty much every semi decent P55/X58 board will let you use ram dividers that let you use upto 2000mhz rams without touching BCLK at all.

Yeah but xmp should change timing and voltages too, I believe it overvolts a bit but it's basically easy overclocking for people who don't want to fiddle with individual settings.

XMP profile is not overclocking, it is setting the ram to its stock timings and volts. Depending on motherboard, it doesn't even change the voltages and frequenzy.

On X58 you may have to use higher VTT and QPI voltages to be able to use high speed memory stable.
