Help with patch

Ok, whenever I load a map it takes about 30-40 seconds to load the kit select screen (with all of the voices skipping) and my game is now COMPLETELY unplayable. It's been running alright for the past 8 months.

Pentium 4 2.0 GHz
ATI Radeon 9200
1.5 GB of ram

Never thought this kind of shit could happen with a single patch but apparently I'm wrong. And YES, I went to my favorite server which I was pubbing in only 2 days ago.

All my settings are set on the absolute LOWEST possible setting.....

Ok, I went into a server and I couldn't see any buildings. It took me 15 seconds but I managed to type out WTF IS WRONG WITH MY BF2. Someone said I DLed the wrong patch.

wtf. http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/battl … id=6144272 look at gamespots article. They clearly say "The update comes in two flavors, a full patch (366.2MB) that will update a fresh install of BF2 to v1.2, or an incremental patch (83.5MB) that will update v1.03 or later to v1.2" That's what I downloaded because I had 1.12.

Same problem here. I was running just fine for the last 3 months, no lag or hiccups. I download patch V1.2 this morning, get set to play, and what a surprise. The game is unplayable, due to lag. Uninstalled game, reinstalled with patch V1.12, game plays fine. Go to different web site and download another patch V1.2, ( maybe my download was corrupted), reinstall patch. Go into game, and you guessed it, UNPLAYABLE. Same as before.

I downloaded it from two different sites. My other computer seems to play just fine. Is it a problem with the patch and my hardware?

full one only if you dont have the 1.12 patch

if you do, download incremental.

back to topic:

servers with red names arent updated to the new patch, so that could be the problem.

holy crap we better not need the whole one. for some reason it took me 3 hrs just to download the increment cuz of all the other ppl downloading. not a 367!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i always have lag cuz i have 512 mb but after a minute or so it becomes playable. i have one problem though, i don't want to make nemore threads but can ne1 help me here. i keep coming up as private. my stats suck too much to be reset, i'm a sergeant in BFHQ and i keep reconnecting to the server. right now i'm downloading drivers again

Also I cant make any screenshots anyone else having that problem.

Could someone who knows their stuff (admin) please post? I don't know about you all but if I don't get this thing figured out my BF2 days are over

And I was playing on a fully patched server

I have a more bad computer that you do. But if you use 400*300 it fully playable, but you cant see anything what people are writing.....

(Mabye they are forcing us to buy new componets for our computers).

I have the same problem. The only thing I can see that we have in common is the ATI Radeon 9200.

What about everyone else experiencing this? Do you happen to have an ATI Radeon as well?

Ryan, I've been going to fully updated servers, and I've been USING the L95 sniper, but everything is just way too laggy.

well i found the server i tried that was laggy, and i thought it was still running the old patch, but i checked and its running the new one

so i dont think the red name servers are the issue.

Make that four - I've got a Radeon 9200, no problems before the patch, and now terrible lag and no buildings
