There are vast cultural differences in taxi seating. In some places the front seat is out of the question, in other you are considered a stuck up snob if you ride in the back when there's no-one else on the ride (unless you're a woman, in which case the back is always fine).
So what is the culture in your country and how does this affect your seat of choice?
I ride in the front and talk about idiot drivers and bicyclists who don't know how to yield etc. sports, weather, whatever. If the convo's good, I tip the driver 5-10 %.

Is it customary to tip in your country? If not, do you do it anyway and why?
