That's a really good point. My flatmate has been playing BF2 for the past couple months and whilst his skills are improving, I'll sometimes stand over his shoulder and explain the finer points of trying to outsmart your opponent/s. It makes me realise how much of online gmaing has so much to do with forethought and awareness of your surroundings. Something that you simply don't need nearly as much of when playing against AI to do moderately well.mtb0minime wrote:
Even when using a controller I still do pretty well against people who play nothing but consoles. I'd say it's more than just the physical actions of aiming with a mouse vs. a controller; a lot of these people have no "common sense" (gaming-wise) and no inkling of tactics. Too many years of playing against stupid AI in singleplayer missions makes them treat online humans as equally worthless.

Kind of a redundant statement then.Uzique wrote:

Now who would have thought that
I guess mek's theory that PC gaming only cares about the FPS is on shaky ground.DrunkFace wrote:

The two are not mutually exclusive.
Train simulators are the real, secret genre that the PC cares about.Mekstizzle wrote:

I'd play those more often, but the simulation always freezes when I purposefully derail.globefish23 wrote:

I would have thought the overall objective of train simulators would be to derail and then watch the carnage...
Just glad the people that actually use trains don't use that as their objective.

It's also one of the reasons I don't do Flight Simulator as much as I'd like. What't he fun in just watching a helicopter freeze in place when I crash it into my house? I want explosions!
My line of thinking is similar, they need people like us in the boardroom for these decisions.unnamednewbie13 wrote:

I want a gta where I can fly a spitfire into my house.
Perhaps since September 11th, 2001 they don't do explosions in flight simulators anymore, to discourage wannabe terrorists with the lack of spectacular explosions, fire and mayhem.
I remember the 1995 Flight Sim (I think it was the year) freezing simulation on impact as well. I don't think 9/11 had much of an influence there.globefish23 wrote:
