I find it strange that some of your opinions about MLK are based on hypothetical behavior ... and that a few others are totally discarded or overshadowed ...

Yeah ... and nobody else in history copied anything but MLK

And does it make that particular speech less significant if he borrowed, copied, stole or what ever some of the words?

hypothetical behavior? Sorry, MLK has been proven to have committed the immoral acts and unscrupulous behavior of which I speak of. Nothing "hypothetical" about it.

I excuse no public figure, no roll model for their lack of integrity. It is the price for fame. and in MLK's case, if you are going to preach morality and integrity, you damn sure better be able to tote the flag as an example of it.

Nope, the words are sound, the plagerism is not. He has credit for them and he does not deserve credit.

ANy other public figure you want to call out for theft, lying or cheating, lets do it, and unlike others, I don't give a fuck what color they are, or what they have "accomplished".

nope not rhetoric, you said others have done it that have not been called out, lets do it.

Name another person so revered for their legacy of integrity honesty and morality to the likes of MLK that is guilty of what MLK is guilty of.

Yet I've pointed out several times that he's guilty...and wait for it...no one gives a shit.

In the meantime, lets try something else.  A small test with a point:

Part One:

You can answer "A" or "B".  There isn't a "A because...." or "B because...."

Who has done more for America?

A) Sarah Palin

B) Martin Luther King, Jr.

And Part two:

Name the five best football players of all time.

I've explained this a few times already.  You can't divide up character and accomplishments with a historical figure.  It's part of who they are.  It's too bad the result isn't happening the way you want it.

When did I ever say MLK deserves privacy?  When did I say Palin should be dragged through the mud?

No it is not Palin vs MLK....It is MLK is a piece of shit and I offer his theft lies adultery as evidence.
Again, I will have to remind you that you did a comparison between the two and declared Palin the better of the two...in terms of accomplishments, not in terms of morality.

I'm waiting for you to prove it definitively or back off from that statement.

Gunna disagree, nothing more we can discuss about it.

DIlbert said, I suppose you diagree with him then?

Never said Palin did more than MLK, at your insistence that accomplishment be compared, I compared what Palin did accomplish with what MLK accomplished, both are authors, both are great public speakers, both can rally a crowd in protest. You somehow have dismissed these accomplishments of Palin, that they do not count for some reason. You are correct however that I said Palin has the moral high ground regarding character over MLK...Do you disagree?

It is relevant to the fact that as Pug has pointed out, MLK is listed as one of the greatest Americans in history. I believe in order to make such a list, especially for your rightousness, and moral compass, and message, that your character should be above reproach. His is not, he was a fraud and a cheat long before the civil rights movement as well as during it. This makes his character relevant to his percieved image, which is a lie and as one of the greatest Americans, his legacy. There is also nothing that leads me to believe that, if he had lived, he would not be involved in some Rangel type scandals and ethics concerns.
Except that he didn't live to be involved in an ethics scandal, so he wasn't.  Damn, that reality is really tough to take, isn't it?

Every human has their vices.  It's something you'll just have to deal with.  In the case of making a list of great Americans, it's people whose legacy left a profound effect on this country.  MLK's did since most people believe his good works overshadow his character flaws., whether you like it or not.

I've stated several times that MLK's problems are in the public's eye.  No one cares.  As far as Palin goes, I have unconfirmed suspicions.  If they are incorrect, then she'll defend herself in court and I'll defend her right to do so.

lol most people do not know of his character flaws, you have never heard of them until they were posted here. His flaws are diluted because somehow he gets a pass because he is black and involved i nthe civil rights movement. No different than Rangel getting a pass by those that simply charge anyone charging him as being racist.

I do not need to like it or not, I simply was arguing that the civil rights movement is no excuse for his lack of integrity and morality, especially since he was a preacher, and his image commanded far greater attributes than what he actually possessed.

tell yas what you show me where I said Palin did more than MLK. I merely compared what they actually did accomplish.

But as long as we are demanding proof how about yo back your statement up that MLK is compared to Lincoln by historians? Please note, being on the same list is not a comparison of individuals accomplishemnts.

Ok, the first part is redundant now, because you've backed off from your claims.

In fact, so's the list issue since the purpose was to show the league of people MLK is compared with.

But if you want to insist on the Lincoln/MLK thing, we'll keep going.

If you pick any topic...

Top Five Hockey Players
Top Five ????

Whatever and put your's up and I'll explain what I mean.  Or you can go about your business.

News flash for ya, I can not back off of what I never said, If you can show me where I said Plain was better than MLK in accomplishment, then I will back off. Until then......... All I said was she had the moral high ground.

I have no idea, I worship football players as much as I worship preachers that lie cheat and steal

Perhaps for others, but for a preacher wh obuilt his entire reputation and preached integrity honesty, morality and fairness. do you not find it at least ironic, in not flat out  relevant, that hte man preaching all of this was neither honst, moral fair or possessed an ounce of integrity?
