i just installed the 1.2 patch and now both my SF and normal BF2 dont load...as soon as i click "start" it goes black as normal...but no "EA GAMES" thing and it just crashes back to desktop!!!...cant even get into the game anymore...any help??

I woudl reccomend deleting patch 1.2 and load back 1.12 for now and wait for the official launch as this sounds similar to the problem i had with SF as i needed to download it again for it to work, i just hope the launch is soon!

when is the official launch scheduled?...and can u put that date/time in Australian Eastern Standard Time...
maybe you downloaded the fake beta patch that steals your CD key and player account

as the patch works fine and stats update and the fact there are patched ranked servers makes me think some1 made a boo boo with the release time and went early.possibly 12 hours(am\pm)or possibly because of the time differences between us and europe.it all seems innocent.ea and dice would be screaming if it was otherwise

friend of mine had it... adviced him to reboot his pc after patch as since i patched... turned of computer had to go and wen i got back pc back on and it worked so try to reboot the pc and check it aftwerwards

I found that if you had renamed your bf2.exe and changed the names of your movies or deleted them or did any other performance boosting changes, this was happening.
I uninstalled BF2 & SF
reinstalled bf2
started game and exited game
*
patched with the 1.12
started game and exited game
patched with the 'dice leaked late night 1.2'
started game and played
this solved my crash problems 100%
*now I havent touched SF yet and its still uninstalled. in hindsight, i recall the troubles with the 1.12 patch and sf and the order with which you patch/install. I would have to say where I inserted the *, follow the old way for getting sf/1.12 patch to work correctly ( i forget the order). Once you do that then start SF up and then exit SF, then patch with the new 1.2 and you should be good togo.
