This forum needs more life.

Anyways, I've been trying to get into video editing, so that I can pollute YouTube with more random short gaming clips.

Some are bad, some are decent, some are in between. Either way...if there are any uber-leet video editors out there, shoot me some pointers.

Those pickup games or actual matches cause the scout one the other team was clueless.
Edit: funny thing is I play demo alot like that but I actully hit the guys directly half the time I cant use the sticky launcher at all.

weirdest thing ever. I have torrents running, and those videos were taking ages to load, I wanted to rewind since it was stuck buffering so I clicked left, since that used to rewind. Instead of rewinding the spinning circle of dots became a game of snake. yes. snake. that game where you're a snake and you pick up fruit and it makes you longer. that's the one. Anyways, I googled it and it looks like that was implemented this week.

Weird shit.

I think you misinterpreted my comment, I didn't mean for it to sound degrading or as if I'm on a high horse, it was still a pretty cool kill.

As far as editing goes, you've got the basics down, subtle, but still interesting, good choice of music too, goes with the pace of the videos. Just gotta work on quality and OCD touches (resolution, aspect ratio, ingame UI and such).

Do you use Startmovie avi or Fraps while it's live?

'editing' skills does not mean 'MUST THROW AT LEAST ONE EDITED EFFECT OR TRANSITION INTO EVERY 10 SECOND KILL CLIP'

it's fucking obnoxious, annoying, and way over-done. editing is supposed to be, as you said, "subtle". that is not. feels like im on a rollercoaster even trying to watch his shitty kills. don't over-dress. put an expensive ball-gown on an ugly woman and she'll still be an ugly bettie. spend 10 minutes putting effects, transitions, annoying 'HERE ARE AWESOME PROFOUND SONG LYRICS JUST IN CASE YOU ARE DEAF BUT NOT BLIND' on an essentially shit clip, and you are not going to get any more 'thumbs up' than if you didn't.

So just put a bunch of clips after each other, throw on some music with absolutely no effort in syncing, and some basically color correction?

Yeah, I can totally see that becoming the next big thing.

Finray: I just use the PLDX recording tool contraption to start up TF2 (1280x720 on my 1280x1024 monitor), and record with Fraps. Then put the clips in Premiere, export as TGA frames (any movie format usually seems to like skipping a lot of frames), then put the TGA files and sound file together in VDub.

I think there's something wrong with my x264 settings though...'cause text always looks so jagged once I'm done in VDub.

defCon don't be ridiculous. of course there is an art in editing, but generally 'less is more', i.e. LESS OBSTRUSIVE, IN YOUR FACE SHIT.

your videos are the far extreme-end of the scale, to the point of being obnoxiously bad. over-edited is the best way to describe it.

for example, syncing music to suit the video content is a great technique. when, however, you feel the need to HIGHLIGHT this technique and DRAW EVERYONE'S ATTENTION TO HOW AWESOME THE MUSIC TIES IN AAAAH HERE'S SOME LYRICS TOO TO AID YOUR APPRECIATION... it becomes overkill, tacky and annoyingly shite.
