I want to get a Ninja 250R, but I'll end up riding around on a 125cc scooter until I has monies for a nice bike. I've also got a Honda XL500s, but the bastard wont start, isnt registered and has broken bits everywhere.

The thing on sunday is basically a course for those that have ridden bikes, but dont have any real experience. Theres some package thing at this local place where they teach tonnes of stuff.

I'm doing package 2. Its pretty expensive, but it includes bike hire for each time, protective gear hire etc.
