It's the Australian thing to do.
So you can get pissed monday night and recover tuesday right?
everything i write is a ramble and should not be taken seriously.... seriously. ♥
Internode just boosted NBN speeds to 40mb out (still 100mb in) just to say fuck you, mainland.
My state was founded by Batman. Your opinion is invalid.
fucking tasmanians.

They read it in the Bible, it must be correct.
Huh?AussieReaper wrote:

Liberal's approach was to build the infrastructure and let the industry improve (which with all the piss farting about now we're on the 3rd revision of an NBN, they have).
I would have had ADSL2 four years ago.

The Liberals believe that wireless is faster than fibre. And that you could put a wireless hub on every street corner to prevent singal loss (since the spectrum is shared).

But it goes in straight lines, cables have to go down holes, round corners and stuff.AussieReaper wrote:

Whats funny is the average user will notice no speed difference at all between the current network and the NBN.
In 5-10 years the newspapers will be full of 'WTF We Paid 50bn for What?' articles.

Fuck Israel
That's assuming in 10 years time our technology will be exactly the same as today. Which it most obviously will not be - we can't even say where it will be.
Yeh, but they'll still be installing the NBN.
The average user downloads text emails and opens web-pages, they don't torrent Gigabytes of data.Jaekus wrote:

For them the speed of the server and their own PC are the limiting factors, not the data transfer.

10 years ago most people didn't use the internet. Wait until we're streaming tv and downloading movies and checking emails all at the same time. And even that is less than a few years away.
I doubt the average user will be doing that.Wait until we're streaming tv and downloading movies
Even if they are, does it make sense to spend $50bn, and force the average user to pay $2000, so the nation can watch more TV?
Fuck Israel
The average user is already downloading music and movies. TV is just next in line.Dilbert_X wrote:

The average pc user a decade ago wasn't using the internet. You think in 10 years there will be a classroom that doesn't include computers?
People can already download music and films over the existing network, and since much of it is torrented no-one is making a profit out of it.The average user is already downloading music and movies. TV is just next in line.
Is it really worthwhile for the govt to spend $50bn so people can download TV instead of watching free-to-air, and steal copyrighted material a bit quicker?
I'm not seeing a net benefit here.

Try to consider the improvements of the entire network. Businesses are going to be able to transfer data far more quickly. I'd have thought that would be obvious.Dilbert_X wrote:

And downloading tv, I did not say that would be illegal streams. You can already watch abc programs on stream if you go over to abc.net.au
What you can't do is watch it in real time.
Cleared some garbage bags out from NYE into the wheelie bin and there was a fucking cane toad sitting amongst a dozen maggots. FUCKING DISGUSTING
I killed it and chucked it in the bin. Some blood from it got on me and I had to go to the safe place in my mind whilst I found some antibacterial soap and lathered it on nice and thick.
I needed to debrief to hopefully move on from this trauma.

Ive got a few cane toad tadpoles living in my pond.
Well, by a few I mean a few hundred.
I tried killing them by pouring petrol into the surface and lighting it, but it just set the bush near it on fire and went out.
Motherfuckers. Should probs get some salt and pour a fuckload of salt in.
Wait do they hate salt? Or am I thinking of leeches?

Bleach in the ecosystem is not cool either.
Maybe a lawnmower?
Lawnmowers don't like petrol.
I'd pour in some bleech.
