i've got really big on tea this year. not sure why. probably all the essaying and long reading sessions i've been doing - hot drinks have become a casual time-killer and a nice aid. so i started trying lots of different varieties and became more and more willing to spend out for a decent pot of tea. it's a nice little ritual to break up work and it's pretty nice seeing what's out there. tea houses are a really nice british thing. amazing quality and you can try some unbelievable blends.

The coffee shop near my dad's has a nice selection of teas, there aren't many proper tea houses in the US though. We're a coffee society tbh

proper tea houses (i.e. pre-victorian) are pretty rare over here now, too... but they're an english rarity and delicacy. we have far more coffee shops and franchises populating our high-streets, too, but the cutesie little tea house is a gem, providing you've got the cash and don't mind sitting with posh old people and tourists.

I like Bud Light too, sorta

Everything has its purpose. You wanna impress a girl, you don't take her to the corner liquor store and sip Bud with Leroy the Panhandler. You wanna throw down with the boys, you don't go to a tea house.

Actually idk what we buy

I think it's maybe twinings.

I don't think I could be a connoisseur of tea, anything other than 'normal' tea I just can't get a taste for.

Piping hot cuppa when you're hungover is just awesome though. It's the balance between wanting to gulp it down and not being able to cause it's too hot. Just awesome.

the right sort of tea really settles my stomach after a heavy drinking binge. especially w/ honey instead of sugar.

right next door to the castle... tea is fucking amazing. she had some rose-petal stuff and i had a rare blend from burundi, with some perfectly done scones, cream and strawberry jam. well worth it.

whole different affair and style and i find all the etiquette, mannerisms and pretensions around english tea-drinking enough. asian tea drinking is like a religious ritual.

In Guangzhou, I sat in the store of a couple who are from the same small town in China my daughter is from for well over an hour drinking various types of tea and talking about all kinds of things. No rush to buy anything...not even the tea.
