the only thing that annoys me is merchan't fudgy west-country accent... im from the west country and that's a serious fudgy accent. i think, comedically (and to be analytical for a second) merchant is an excellent dramatic/comedic foil to BOTH gervais and pilkington. he's like the in-betweener. sometimes that makes him annoying because he's just the parrot/heckler in the middle - but it would be too much if it was the dry sharp wit of gervais with fucking pilkington all the time. merchant is a good mediator and has a few funny lines / add-ons himself, too.

do you have these 10 'guide to' series of audiobooks that they did? seriously better than the radio show in parts.

oh i agree there definitely needs to be someone in the middle of gervais and karl, i just think it could have been someone better. although no one really comes to mind and it's pointless talking about it anyway because it's not like they can get some new guy in all of a sudden, it is what it is.

i think i'm missing the two newest audiobooks, but i've got the rest.

the podcasts are where gervais had his genesis, really. the chemistry between him, merchant (the talented writer) and pilkington (oaf; WHY IS HIS HEAD SO FUCKING BIG) is literally the best trio i can think of. the office (UK VERSION USA ONE IS SHIT) is fucking gold, extras is funny too. gervais stand-up is way up there. the radio podcasts and these audio-books are amazing.

if you want a quick short-hand version of the radio podcasts, then HBO commisioned an animated-series based on them.

his GTA IV stand up was hilarious. I honestly felt like that was one of the best parts of the game (combined with Katt Williams ofc)

I actually went to one of those basement style comedy clubs when I was in NYC for after-prom the other week. They're surprisingly hilarious. The headliner was Dotcom from 30 Rock.
