PSN will still do all the things that cost money on XBL for free, PSN Plus offers beta access and store discounts as well as other things that currently are not available on PSN.
As such, XBL Silver offers the least options and is free. PSN and XBL Gold offer the same options, but XBL costs money, PSN Plus offers extra features and costs money. XBL Silver < XBL Gold = PSN < PSN Plus feature wise.
If you make a lot of purchases on the PSN store Plus could even save you money.
do a research noob.
all you did was had detail to what I just wrote ........ 360 : Silver is Free .. Gold cost you money ---- PS3 : PSN is free .... PLus cost you money
read before you post noob
and how long do you think you're free is going to last now ..... all this " plus " is, is a testing ground
all they need to do is make it a dollar less than XBL and people will switch from "psn is better because it's free" to "psn is better because it's cheaper"
I'd actually regret that day if it comes. Keeping PSN free I believe has some bearing to all the Live Gold sales that come up all the time. $35 on Amazon. $30 from Dell. $25 on eBay. $20 Bestbuy.krazed wrote:

You never said jack shit about the seperation between PSN and PSN Plus, and you made the point that XBL and PSN were even because PSN would now cost money, a blatant inaccuracy.
XBL silver isn't comparable to PSN and XBL gold isn't comparable to PSN Plus. The only similar ones are XBL Gold and PSN, and PSN is free.
I expect that PSN will remain free until the next Playstation comes out, if not longer, because it is one of the primary reasons people buy PS3s over 360s. If they charged for it the 360 would get a lot of customers who would have purchased PS3s because it is a more solid gaming platform.

On topic, I think the 'new' 360 looks a whole lot better than its predecessors, hopefully they've managed to make it somewhat less noisier as well, the thing sounds like a goddamn jet taking off.

I'm amazed they released the same console with improvements FIVE YEARS after it's original release
That's the time it usually takes for a brand new generation of consoles to be released...

Mmm, would be good for the 360. But seems unlikely since in most cases consoles seem to make more sound once the case gets smaller. Casing point, the PS3 Slim. According to my uncle, who has one, it has the tendency to make more noise than my 'older' ps3.Ilocano wrote:

But, I guess we'll see what happens. Still like the new look of the 360
I don't know what bandwagon you're referring to, since I will most likely be selling my PS3 within the next few weeks, and considering that the 360 has sold millions more units than the PS3.SEREMAKER wrote:

Appears to be. But seems to be only one needs to have PSN Plus. What a scheme to get PS3 social/clanplayers to pay for PSN. Loners will be fine with plain ole PSN.Miggle wrote:

Ingame party chat and just regular private voice chat, what is PSN's response? Ingame private textchat. Sorry, but I find it hard to communicate ingame with text when I could just talk to people on the mic.Miggle wrote:
