Since when did it become free?SEREMAKER wrote:
RROD are of the past and Live is free or upgrade11 Bravo wrote:
lulz...they are both basically the same except one doesnt have the rrod and internet is free.

Never heard of a YLoD to this day. Still not sure about the RRoD, since it and discs scratched by consoles (but not really covered by enthusiastic warranty...lol) have plagued its publicity for such a long time. I see they replaced the chipset, but it seems pretty late into the console's life to build much of a library of new games.
that's about as solid an argument as saying it isn't free because you have to pay internet/electrical bills.SEREMAKER wrote:
none the less ... it is still free
doesn't look any thinner, looks uglier. looks aside it's a huge improvement.
"people in ny have a general idea of how to drive. one of the pedals goes forward the other one prevents you from dying"
looks quite nice actually, ill wait for an even lower price drop/my xbox rroding until i consider buying!
Good question. You could use the transfer cable method, but that would imply you'd have to keep the old HD first.SEREMAKER wrote:
but how would I transfer everything over to the new slim .... I know they won't be letting ppl do transfers in the backroom
1) wait wut. link plzSEREMAKER wrote:
Gamestop is offering a bigger trade in value on 360s but if you buy the slim in the same transaction
but how would I transfer everything over to the new slim .... I know they won't be letting ppl do transfers in the backroom
2) you have to send out for a transfer cable like I said. it's a very streamlined and simple process
theres no link on it from gamestop ... except the stating of additional $25 for hardware but I was talking to 2 different gamestops and they both said the same thing
I hate this knowing that I have to drop a additional $20 for a one time use cable ....... be nice if they had an option where we could transfer files to a web server for a limited time bases, set up the new 360 and download everything to the new one

USB method also works. Piece meal since you probably have over 16GB to transfer.SEREMAKER wrote:

Also, offer starts tomorrow.
Cancel the piece meal bit. But if you have less than 16GB to transfer, yeah, any USB stick will do, assuming your 360 has the latest updates. I'm using a USB stick for one of my 360 Arcades and works just fine.SEREMAKER wrote:
can any 16gb drive work ... I got one laying around

Silver doesn't allow you to play online, just lets you be online.SEREMAKER wrote:

Yes but if you can't play with others online it isn't worth a shit.SEREMAKER wrote:

well the argument from way ago was about Live is a paying while PSN is free but Live is free with an option to upgrade, it may not offer all the content you want but it is still free .... now just recently annoucned that PSN will now offer a service that you have to pay forWar Man wrote:

so all the arguing about PSN being free and Live cost money can now be tossed out the window
no it can't.SEREMAKER wrote:

PSN will still do all the things that cost money on XBL for free, PSN Plus offers beta access and store discounts as well as other things that currently are not available on PSN.
As such, XBL Silver offers the least options and is free. PSN and XBL Gold offer the same options, but XBL costs money, PSN Plus offers extra features and costs money. XBL Silver < XBL Gold = PSN < PSN Plus feature wise.
If you make a lot of purchases on the PSN store Plus could even save you money.
do a research noob.
