We should do a league table of churches/religions.

Be a Mormon. Best way to make Jehovah's Witnesses shy away.

You could talk to priests, pastors, etc. Read some books. Or ask God.

Looking at this Chart, one would have to assume that the Assyrian Church is the closest one... like I said, from a historical perspective. You'd have to be able to find the oldest sect and scriptures if you really want to find "true" Christianity...

what makes the first, original interpretation of the scripture the 'truest' one?

that's like saying the 'true' way to live a 'proper' life is feudalism

Because it's the closest to the first, original scriptures themselves. Obviously without the original scriptures to look at, you'll never really know, but the safest assumption is that the oldest recorded interpretations of the scriptures must be the closest to the original thing. Because naturally all the other interpretations throughout history must also have a source to interpret, it's just about following the scriptures all the way down.

Your feudalism analogy doesn't really make any sense, there is no benchmark for proper society like that and saying feudalism is just saying some random form of society. Whereas with Christianity, there's the original scriptures or the closest original scriptures as the benchmark to answer the question as to which one is the closest thing.

It's nice and easy to say that the nicest sect of Christianity (or whatever one, one belongs to) must be the truest, that's the answer everybody loves. Probably not the historical or scientifically accurate assumption though.
