so i was trying to put 7 on this mac. tried doing it through boot camp, and when it came time to install 7, it said it had to be ntfs. i deleted the boot camp partition because i figured it wouldnt affect the osx, and now its fucked. how do i put osx back on here? i would just keep 7 on here if i could figure out how to get the fucking backlit keyboard to work, but i guess thats too much to ask

i knew i shouldnt have gotten this fucking thing...

why DID you buy it? most of the appeal of macs is 64-bit stable OSX: it's ridiculously fast and efficient

ctrl +apple + power button

Force Eject CD on Boot:
Hold down the mouse button

Boot from CD:
Hold down C key on startup

Boot from External Drive/iPod:
Hold Option key on startup

the touchpad can do awesome things if you set it up from the apple menu (top left corner)

can set it up with touch-sensitive shortcuts, i.e. drag finger from centre->top left of mousepad = go to desktop

the apple key is your shortcut key to everything. apple-key + click on link = open in new tab. apple-key + R = refresh. it's all really obvious, but messing around and getting a grasp of the basics will make safari 10x quicker to use than firefox/ie/opera.

ugh i hate osx. i used it for a year, and i just hate how everything feels, and how i have to open the terminal for every little change i have to make. it's purely a subjective opinion, but i would put windows on a mac asap.

in the long run, the decision to allow windows on their hardware was a bad move. mark my words, apple will suffer and die because of it
