Poll Time: Some of you have seen Avatar more than once at the movie theatre. So I wonder, if you plan to buy the movie on DVD or Blu-Ray.
Post your thoughts and opinions.

REAL WORLD FACTS:

20th Century Fox has announced that Avatar is the best selling movie in America on both Blu-ray and DVD. The film is also the best selling Blu-ray movie of all time with 2.7 million copies sold in only four days on store shelves in North America alone. The previous record was 2.5 million units.

------

The current release of Avatar is only in 2D. Plans for the 3D version will eventually come out in 2011.

-------

The downside to the popularity of Avatar on Blu-ray is that some buyers of the movie are finding that the Blu-ray disc won’t play on some players on the market. DRM-issue

My Thoughts:
as much as I disliked the movie, I may buy the blu-ray (3d version) just to add it to my collection

My BR download works perfectly. No pesky DRM
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

No, don't really buy DVDs, unless they are on a 3 for 1.

Already have it in full BD download and x264.  I'm considering buying it as well though.

Also, I'm pretty sure BD players just need an update, its not that it doesnt work on them.  This is the 5th or 6th revision of Blu-ray security iirc...

Poll options need to be rethought. Already own it.

Someday, somewhere, that movie's going to ambush you and you're going to realize that while it isn't a masterpiece of scriptwriting, it isn't half bad watching giant smurfs shoot six-foot arrows into people.

Mine comes with a BluRay and DVD disk, and in a steelbook too.

Got the little heads up saying if there were any issues with it running I would need to update. Ran fine though (PS3).

Your low tolerance for cheese must restrict you from watching too many movies.

So maybe whoever discovered the stuff in this universe was a sci-fi fanatic. Or maybe it's an inside joke. Or maybe it doesn't matter if they called it deposites of unobtanium or waltekronkite crystals. The stuff didn't even play as pivotal a role in the movie (despite it being what we were after) as Omega 13 did in Galaxy Quest.

I'm still amazed that people can't look past that and see all the technical brilliance in this film. Or maybe they'd be happier if Cameron had his writers make up some goofy name like midi-chlorian.
