How does an execution work? Do they publicly announce it, or just tell the people involved?burnzz wrote:

They sell tickets to the execution, conduct it in a large arena with thousands of fans cheering on the executioner, and then burn the corpse on a bonfire as everyone lines up to dance around it.pace51 wrote:

shifty i dunno what you're laughing at, your concepts of 'justice' and notions of 'fair punishment' are laughable, too

On an honest note, I think the justice system is pretty good as it is. It could be better though.
My "Extremist" views are indeed dumb and scary. I just like to throw ideas onto the table and discuss them but you guys aren't very open to discussion.
And above your tomb, the stars will belong to us.
err i think an open-minded classic liberal with centrist political and economic stances is more 'open' to discussion than your brand:
if you think the shifty/lowing line of 'be the hardest most immovable right-wing nutjob and stick to the same line for 12 months'
is somehow... 'open to discussion'...
then you're even worse than i thought

To me it seems that Uzique has been quite open to discussion thus far, at least he has opened some philosophical aspects of death sentence and justice.Sh1fty wrote:

Though,
main problem I see with justice (however you define it) is that majority of people aren't educated enough to understand the complexity of what you just wrote above, and I think you're just scratching the surface of this issue. I feel like more than often when seeking justice for the victim's family the family is trying to seek vengeance and wants to label it justice. But it's hard to believe that righteous justice can grow from simple vindictiveness.Uzique wrote:
the death sentence essentially operates as a high-level of officiated retributive soap-opera; it prepares a stage for the victim's family to partake in watching a similarly brutal, inhumane taking of life: sure, they feel better and may have a sense of 'closure'- but there are fundamental philosophical and moralistic arguments against this so-called 'function' of the legislature/legal executive to provide a life-teleological 'closure' to crisis and personal issue/trauma. the law is there to punish and make an example - but when that crosses over into bare-hypocrisy and the punishments serve as pre-emptive measures to instill and spread 'fear', that is when the law has either become bloated, perverted or plain ideologically side-tracked. stick to the essential principles of justice, equality and liberty. leave the neo-puritan demand for the "other's" blood out of it. it is a simple perversion.
He's very aggresive and doesn't really be open. He just says it's fucking retarded and calls the person concered an idiot. I don't mind, it's his loss.BLdw wrote:

Uzique posted quite open view from philosophical aspect of death sentence and justice in general. But if you throw ideas (what ideas actually?) like maybe "glad that he didn't die instantly", or "well, that scum bag deserved it" then what kind of responses you want from here? You just threw your emotion based quite provocative opinion on our faces and answering anything at all to something like that is very difficult. You didn't really say why he deserved it, what made the punishment right, why such justice was good or what is good justice.-Sh1fty- wrote:

Conversation between G@lt and him gives more food for thought than it appears at first glance. You shouldn't really care what he is calling you or anyone else but read what he has said thus far. And if you really read what he wrote earlier you may be able to understand why I think he has been open to discussion.

I have a philosophical difference of opinion with him on the subject but we maintained civility. While I may disagree with Uzique on this topic, we agree wholeheartedly that both you and pace are retarded children who need to go back to playing with their GI Joes. Neither of you brings anything to any conversation in DST except cause for trolling.-Sh1fty- wrote:

I you guys never do anything other than bash my opinions. You might disagree with others but like you said you are civil with each other and not with me. I should remain civil though even if you guys go low.

Well here's a question for you guys. If somebody you're close to, your wife, your parents, or your gf or something; how would you like it if some guy comes and kills them?
Do you think that person should go to jail where he can cause more harm or would you rather see him dead and gone with?

if i was bringing malice into it, i'd rather they spend life getting bummed by tyrone in all honestly. thankfully, revenge should have no place in a court of law.-Sh1fty- wrote:
