DENVER – The Army says it's considering whether to rescind an invitation to evangelist Franklin Graham to appear at the Pentagon on the National Day of Prayer after a religious liberty group complained about his description of Islam as "evil."

Col. Tom Collins says Army leaders were meeting Wednesday and that withdrawing the invitation "is on the table."

Collins says Graham was invited by the Colorado-based National Day of Prayer Task Force, which works with the Pentagon chaplain's office on the prayer event.

A spokesman for the task force didn't immediately return a call.

The Military Religious Freedom Foundation raised the issue, saying Muslim employees at the Pentagon were offended by the invitation.

Graham is the son of famed evangelist Billy Graham.

second, who screwed the pooch on this one, or in fact was the ball even dropped? if it's for the "National Day of Prayer" can't they just invite more people to pray?

Franklin is somewhat divisive.  He's a little more inflammatory than his father.

It's diplomatically tactless to denounce Islam as a fundamentally evil faith while you're trying to win the hearts and minds of predominantly Islamic nations.

Why is the Pentagon inviting in preachers in the first place?
Hobbies are great but to be fair they'd have to have a LOTR larping day too.
