I've been using the Uzi a lot, with decent results. The fact it's silent, accurate and quick suits me, just the ammo situation can be a bit tricky.

I have friends who love and are good with the SCAR-L, some who prefer the UZI and me who likes either UMP-45, PP2000 or G3 (Yes I know it's not a strictly Engineer gun, but hey...)

PP2000 just because it has enough bullets to ensure that some bullshit hit detection doesnt leave you with no bullets. They are all pretty much identical.
All that says is you worked your way through the guns, and personally liked the UZI more than the PP2000.

Last night on TS, I was chatting with a few clanmates and the consensus was that using the M60 makes us feel 'dirty'. Why do we feel dirty for using a weapon that every pubby on our servers uses without any qualms? Anyone a psychologist?

You can't use an M60 as an engineer. And using the M60 at all is a bad idea considering it's going to get nerfed. Using the GL means you never learn to play the game properly at all (just look at CammRobb's average BC2 round)

Not sure why I like the Scar-L so much, but I think a lot of times weapon preference comes down to a psychological thing.
There are other weapons which have better stats, but I go for Scar-L and M16.
M16 = 1008 kills
M60 = 311 kills
Scar-L = 231 kill

just unlocked the Ak-74U...with the magnum ammo and red-dot unlocks, it takes little effort to take some one down medium to short range. I'll roll with it for now.
in my quest for getting gold on every gun, i have yet to really hate any weapon. this game is more about getting the drop on your opponent than anything else. only in wide open firefights do i feel handicapped by certain weapons, but if i can ninja my way around the map, it really doesn't matter what gun i use.
