So I bombed a hill yesterday with a GPS-module+phone in my pocket. A guy said that he's done 40kph in it, and since I'm totally a beginner, I thought it'd be a good slope for me to practice downhill on.
56,3 kph is what was registered as top speed before bailing onto grass. Now I know that may not sound like ultra much but DAMN, what an adrenaline rush!

When I first started reading it, I thought that by "bombing" a hill, you crashed at the end of it, thus destroying your GPS-module. Then I was hopeful when I read that some guy had done it at 40kph with a similar module in his pocket, so yours should be ok....DonFck wrote:

That's pretty fast! I'd love to do that on a bike or some rollerblades, but never a skateboard/long board. I've broken a wrist, stubbed many toes, and faceplanted so bad that a few of my teeth managed to stay in my mouth only because I had braces at the time. And this was just skateboarding around my neighborhood, not doing any tricks or anything (I can't even ollie). ...
