It was only a few tens of metres (if that) across as well. Makes you think how much a big one would fuck things up.

EDIT: Seems it was actually less than 10m. Weighed about 10 tons and detonated with a force between 1-10 kilotons.

most of the injuries were from broken glass/flying wreckage. still an amazing phenomenon.

I wonder if most of those people thought it was a missile sent from the good ol US of A?

That's what my first thought would be if I saw something like that.  "Oh shit, I guess its WW3"

If only the Russians had assault rifles, they could have shot it down.

It appears one whacky Russian politician thinks it was an American weapons test. I'm pretty sure this is the same guy who thinks all of Ukraine should be turned into a nuclear waste dump.

Was there any report of a meteor shower to hit Russia prior to it happening? There are usually warnings about these things weeks in advance.

Also, today an object fell out of the sky and exploded above Cuba. Eye witnesses reported it being the size of a bus.

It seems very coincidental that at the time a meteor passes the earth both Russia AND Cuba (who have had ongoing tensions with the US in the past and continue to do so at some level) experience objects falling from the sky with little to no warning.

Now, I'm not saying outright it's a US weapons test like this Russian politician is, but the coincidence makes the mind boggle and question it at the very least.

You can 'lol' all you like, I'm just raising it up for discussion. It appears you have no input, thanks for your comment.

The other (and more likely) side of it is these are fragments of the main meteor that passed and it is just hard to keep track of everything when all the focus is on the main event. I just think the fact that both these events affected Russia and Cuba to be interesting. Perhaps/probably it's nothing more than what is there to be taken at face value, but I'm interested in others' thoughts.

You guys missed the part where I said I'm just raising it for discussion and that I think it's more likely just to be fragments of the main meteor that passed.

I believe Neil Armstrong walked on the moon.

But hey, maybe it's a nuts idea. Probably not as nuts as owning firearms to fight your own government in case of tyranny though.

So you want to debate whether or not the US decided to test their missiles by firing them into Russia and Cuba?

Im going to go with the insane theory and say that they didnt do that
