Alright, so as most people I'm straight up tight niggas with on here know, I'm going to be going to college in/living in NYC starting in August. I've slimmed down and shaped up (see Body Image thread) but now I need a fucking style. I have a very vague, basic style now but really no sense of fashion? I'm certainly no metro, but fuck me I have no idea how to dress.

So, in late June I'm planning on going into NYC and spending some of my graduation money on a pretty much whole new set of clothes... but I really have no idea where to start. The only suggestion I've gotten so far (and what I'd like everything along the lines of) is Kenneth Cole. But that doesn't really help much.

So if anyone in NYC can give me tips where to start, and anyone in general can give me ideas... well that'd be fan-fucking-tastic now.

I consider myself some what stylized and classy. But it's really hard for me to tell you what to wear.

I would recommend dark denim jeans over those faded crappy light ones with holes and rips in them.

Get some that actually fit your waist as well. Straight legs. Boot cuts are shit, skinny jeans are shit. Women like to look as much as men like to look at women so make sure the jeans fit your butt well, but are comfortable when walking and sitting.

Don't ever wear jeans with big holes around the knees, it looks retarded and bum-tacular.

Buy nice leather shoes, dark brown or light brown rather then sneakers that are white. And buy belts to match the shoes.

Nice v-neck sweaters. Black, gold, brown, light blue, light green (olive) and collared modern-fit shirts that match each color to wear under them.

If you're going for a professional and adult look, do not wear shirts and sweaters with logos all over them, ie Aéropostale (Which is actually air mail in french or something lol) Lucky Brand, American Eagle etc. Personally, I just don't like being a walking advertisement.
