Okay let me try and think of things that can get you disqualified from the military:

-Openly gay (although that's changing)
-Asthma after age 13
-Bipolar disorder and other serious mental disorders
-Suicide attempts
-I think cancer
-Being a felon
-Failure to adapt

That last one might be an option. Get sent to boot camp, don't listen to the drill instructors, eventually you'll get discharged for failure to adapt. In the US it's an entry-level separation, not a dishonorable discharge or anything like that.

edit: You could also just suck it up and serve one year. Can you pick your job?

Usually conscription is around 1 year and 3 months and he got out in 3 months. The gay shit won't work... They make you suck dick in Taiwan.
