a good example, which isnt neccesarily related to this subject, is when the ex secretary of defense (edit: defense minister)of canada made a public and recorded (its on youtube) statement that aliens exist and are being covered up by governments around the world. I would consider him a very reliable source on the subject and i tend to believe what he says.

Now in a minute when you start blabing on about aliens and im just a conspiracy nut, it will be an excellent example of no matter what source i give you, you brush it off as bullshit because its not the common belief.

There is plenty of science and law to debunk both the ridiculous notion that the gubmint was behind 9/11 and that the gubmint listens in on your cellphones even when they're not on. That's from both my personal education and my personal experience. As well as that of countless others. Are all those countless others in on the conspiracy(ies) as well? Only the select few who operate and follow those web sites are the "enlightened" ones? Whose access to information consists of nothing more than some grainy photographs and half-baked concepts that have been debunked from multiple experts? Seriously?

Anyway, as for the OP:

The article has a pretty poorly worded and misleading title, as in the context of prohibition "alcohol" should refer to ethanol. I don't see anything wrong with trying to make industrial methanol unpalatable. If ingested, as little as 10 mL of methanol can cause permanent blindness by destruction of the optic nerve and 30 mL is potentially fatal, although the usual fatal dose is typically 100–125 mL (4 fl oz). Nowdays we use chemicals like these - the most bitter compound known to man - to do the exact same job. As for the use of toxic additives to make the methanol unpalatable.. if you were drinking methanol, they would be the least of your concerns...

As for lawsuits, despite that being the seemingly normal response in your stupidly litigious society, you have to remember this occurred roughly 85-90 years ago. Anyone near legal drinking age back then would now be.. you know.. dead.

That Canadian defense minister is a very credible source.

Also, the president of Venezuela said that US Government was behind the recent earthquakes, he's the president so it must be true as he is a credible source.

And the president of Iran also said that the Holocaust was just a Zionist hoax, so I guess that's another one right there.
