That's some really good stuff. I wish I could talk to some of those photographers. Bet they've seen some pretty intense shit.

Sometimes the destruction of parts of the brain do not lead to your death.

Very moving photo's I really like them. especially the 2 guy's sitting behind a dumpster I don't know why but I can somehow relate to that one.

I work with 2 guys that were in the Army both received shrapnel wounds to the head one guy has 35%of his skull removed & then around 40% of his frontal lobe removed (this is your brains manegment system for everyday stuff) as a result of the damage done by flying metal. I can't go into specifics really but the brain has compensated for the damage done, he is now left handed he was previously right handed weird I know that is not usual, his short term memory is shot to pieces so therefore the transfer to long term memory is some what problematical, so the everyday stuff has to be learnt through conditioning we have to do the same things at the same time everyday so it then becomes seated in the long term memory this is very long winded so far teaching him to clean his teeth has taken about 3 months, 4 rehab workers & 6 family members just to teach him to clean his teeth, but the sense of achievement he got when for the first time he remembered to clean his own teeth seriously I was in tears when he told me I was so happy. Now we have to work on getting some movement back in his left arm/shoulder.

Then you temper that with a 24 year old soldier came to me for rehab on frontal lobe damage, that was reasonably minor within 1-2 years he could of been back working with support from the MoD, 6 weeks after I started working with him his girlfriend left him because " he was different", his dad was constantly telling him to work harder. guess what he did that's right he topped himself, poor fucker was working well, the fact that his dad was a big cunt didn't help, that was a rough day at the office tbh, I still think of him tbh poor sod.
