Funny. I'm an American and don't feel embarrassed by him.

Why? Free country. I'm proud that he can say whatever the hell he wants. It proves that our freedom of speech is still alive and kicking if nothing else I don't have to agree with the man but I respect his right to hold his beliefs.
The rest of us can exercise that right by making fun of his more outlandish statements any time we want.

So Glenn Beck is representative of the average American? Most Americans share his opinions, his view of the world, and so on?
He seems to be mainstream.  For that to happen and for him to pull the rating he is...
Uh... no...  He is not mainstream.  He might have an avid following, but that does NOT mean he is mainstream.
Er... Yea.  That's kinda goes along with having a HUGE following.

Mainstream means he represents or reflects the views of the majority.  Could you really say Glen Beck does that?  I mean he covers a broad range of subjects so I guess if you cast your net far enough you are bound to catch some mainstreamers in there but I'd hardly say he represents the views of a majority of Americans.

Rush Limbaugh has a big following too.  Does that mean he's mainstream?

If so, then how do you explain the Democrats getting a supermajority and the presidency?

Clearly, the average American isn't as conservative as Beck or Rush.

Glenn Beck is a joke at this stage... he's a bit of an embarrassment to America as he doesn't represent the average American. He only represents the conspiracy-theory-believing, far-right element of American society. The right-wing equivalent of Jim Corr.
If he doesn't represent the average American why would he be an embarrassment? If it's obvious even to an outsider that he's not representative of the average American, why would the average American care?

That would be like saying you Euros should be embarrassed by rammunition.

Well, let's be clear. You very well might be a retarded dumbfuck with an opinion but as long as you're not hurting anyone, you have every right to be a retarded dumbfuck Doesn't mean I have to agree with your retarded dumbfuck opinion, and we'll argue like cats and dogs, but I respect your right to express it Clear now?

I am very clear on this issue and have always been, what's difficult sometimes is explaining to a retarded dumbfuck that his opinion is infact the retarted dumbfuck opinion when he himself believes it to be quite the opposite ... get it?

I think it's more like..  "it's embarassing that someone like Beck actually has a significant following."  It's not so much that the average American is embarassing -- it's just that a significant minority of Americans are idiots.

I don't watch any of them but if was forced to make a choice... I'd rather watch Beck than Olberman or anyone on MSNBC.

I'd rather watch Joe Scarborough than Beck, tbh. But he's the only one on MSNBC that I would bother with.
