I always find comments denigrating sports such as "hockey is violent" or "basketball is only for ghetto-ers" woefully ignorant. That would be like calling NFL pussies in comparison to rugby players for wearing pads (which they are assuredly not), or baseballers uninventive compared to cricketers because there is only one type of shot (which is also a patently stupid statement).

If you think people watch hockey for the fighting or that hockey is all fighting you clearly don't know a damn thing about the sport. I've been watching hockey for 15 years, and I can safely say that if you (or anyone) say hockey is "all about fighting" or people watch it "just for the fighting", they know nothing about the sport.

i'm still a fan of it... so much bullshit happens in the sport but I just can't give it up. plus the yankees winning it all kind of helped that this year
