Conan > Leno > Fallon

I'd love for Conan to move to somewhere like ABC or FOX. Fuck NBC for this shit.

NBC chief Jeff Zucker moves Leno after 17 years on Tonight Show to a 10:00 pm slot (The Leno Show) and gave Tonight Show to Conan & the Late Show goes to Jimmy - the Leno Show is pretty much a copy of Tonight Show - Leno Show and Tonight Show ratings just plummet - now at the 7 month mark Jeff Zucker has decided to move Leno back to the 11:30 slot and push Tonight Show to 12:30 and move Late Show to 1:30 - now as of recent Leno may retake the Tonight Show - Conan doesn't want anything to move bc it being unfair to Jimmy being moved back as hour - Fox Network is wanting to get Conan and have a late talk show to compete with Jimmy Kimmel on abc, Dave Letterman on cbs & possible Leno on nbc

It wasn't the comedy shows ratings that plummeted, it was the local nightly news programs for their affiliates that were hit with bad ratings. The news is how those local stations stayed afloat so decreasing ad revenue was kicking them in the ass.

I feel like a lot of the same people (probably a younger demographic) who like Letterman's style also like Conan over Leno.  So when Jay was on the Tonite Show, those people could watch Letterman and then switch over to Conan afterward, thus avoiding Leno's tired schtick and getting to watch 2 higher-quality broadcasts in doing so.  When Conan was moved, these same people had to suddenly choose between the two, and the Tonite Show's ratings took a slight hit as a result.  And there's no way the people who attempted to watch Leno's new show could actually stay awake through it to watch the Tonite Show afterwards...that show was essentially Nyquil over a TV screen. 

All in all, I'd say none of this is really Conan's fault.  The way this has been handled by NBC top brass is ridiculous, and it's pretty apparent to all.  I think some NBC exec's should take a cue from Conan and step down from their posts before they cause anymore damage to the network.  Conan, the Olympics, and sports were literally the only thing I think I've cared to watch on their network in the past decade.

I have no idea what his contract is like, but they may "own" him for the term of the contract. They may be able to keep him off the air, but still pay him. The contract may stop him from going to another show until the NBC contract runs out. NBC and Conan may make a deal that he is let out of the contract early, but not paid the full contract amount. I believe this to be somewhat common for these kinds of contracts.

Love him or hate him, Conan's got a Harvard education, NBC won't be able to screw him out of any money, he's a smart guy.

I think he'd do well on Fox, and I'm sure they'd be glad to have him.

My post goes toward the fact that most people know who won American Idol last year, while having no idea who the VP of the US is.

It goes to the fact that most people know the name of the latest bachelor and have no idea what the 3 branches of our govt. are.

There was another of Conan's opening sequence where he starts off saying...

"Hosting “The Tonight Show” has been the fulfillment of a lifelong dream to me. And I want to say to the kids out there watching, you can do anything you want in life unless Jay Leno wants to do it, too."

and then it goes from there but i can't find it.
