Its just an article on a report, why not calm down and try addressing the report itself and not the journalism?
Because (as I already said) that was done quite well.

And I'm quite calm, thank you.

And how can we address the report when we don't have the report to address? All we have is what is "reported" in the "article" and that has already been addressed quite well.

i still find it humorous that people think humans are actually impacting the earth.  sure, our pollution is most likely hurting ourselves, but i'm sure the planet is going to watch humans die off as another failed evolution.  i am absolutely in favor of preserving the environment for humankind, but not because we are 'hurting the planet.'  dont make me laugh.

Your cuntry contributes less per capita. Given that Norway’s economy is less than 2 percent that of the U.S., it’s not surprising that its total foreign aid budget is not large in absolute terms.

No it doesn't It has a huge GDP per capita but that's because the entire population of the country is half the population of New York City and they're sitting on oil deposits Anyone in a similar situation would look good too.

$450 Billion is still large in comparison to other countries.

Oil deposits are win as well.

Dude, who do you think has developed all those medicines, technology, argicultural techiques that has raised the standard of living for the entire world. Excess consumption is an expression of that success. Being fat is sign of a successful society. The US isn't failing, though there are many who are jealous of the standard of living here.

There is no doubt that the US is a beacon to the rest of the world....
No-ones saying the US should abandon all the trappings of wealth. but your economy is failing, you have thousands/millions in poverty etc etc (see my previous post which points you managed to ignore). the US has NOT developed fuckin everything of any value, and it's (typical?) American close-mindedness and big-headedness (is that a word? I dunno) that makes you say it is so. In some respects the US HAS BEEN a beacon to the world, but get a grip - over the past few decades your star has been falling to be replaced by other countries who represent typicall american ideal like freedom, justice and so on far better than you guys do now. Thing isd, you are an Americna and live in the US so you don't know how you're seen by other coutnries. not as a beacon of hope but as seomthing to avoid.

A lot of the yanks on this forum are very arrogant. Being fat isn't a symbol of success - it's a sign of being unhealthy and not taking much exercise. Why do you think so many poor people are fat? Cos they eat fuckin MCDonalds shit. Seriously, you have to expand your way of thinking.
Being fat isn't a sign of success... as opposed to a famine sticken Ethiopian being a sign of success.

I think you are right that the US is in a decline for the past few decades, we've lost manufacturing and other industries. The reason for that is the US has gone along with the idea of globalization. And one of the idea behind globalization is to lift the standard of living in the third world. So while you can point to a decline and claim excessive consumption, I can point to the real reason parts of the midwest look like a shithole. The US let those jobs leave. Our decline has led to a surge in the development of the third world. Whether I agree that that's a good thing is another matter.

You want to talk about Rotten Ronnies, come on let's talk about something real. Let's not forget peace for Europe. That's twice the US bailed out the Europeans. Its been what 60 years since Europeans stopped killing each other in stupid wars, that has to be some sort of record. I wonder how much money the US has spent in Europe to keep the peace all these years, IMO that amounts to a huge subsidy to European economies.  By the looks of things Europe is starting to suffer from the generational gap and latest generation has no idea how bad things were in Europe. The older generation definitely had more respect for sacrifices that were made. Makes me wonder if the US withdrew totally from Europe, just how long it would take for the "hybrid" tanks to start rolling - because we all know you wouldn't want to hurt the environment while you kill each other. /sarcasm

Hate US or Love US, make no mistake that more people want to live here than we let in. And that should tell you all you need to know about how the world preceives US.

Stop sending shit to the US for us to buy if it bothers you so much.  If I'm supposed to think twice about buying the latest Nokia cell phone, well, perhaps Nokia shouldn't be developing new types of cell phones to encourage me to switch.  After all, I'm an American, and therefore have absolutely no control over my actions, because I'm 50 pounds overweight and the diabetes impacts my rationality. Man, if I wasn't so addicted to buying crap all the time, I probably would send thousands of dollars overseas to help disaster victims. Plus I send thousands of dollars overseas buying foreign crap.  BTW most of that foreign crap weighs more than me, and it's dog food.  I do this, because I am proud my dog eats better than someone in Bangladesh.

hell man, I'm not sending you shit anyway! I'm not a flag-waver for any country, not Finland, the UK or any. Did you read my post about Nokia before? AFAIK they make their fuckin phones in China or some shit anyway.

You're PROUD your DOG eats better than most PEOPLE in the world? Then someone might say you're another arrogant prick aren't you? You should be ashamed we live in a world where people's pets are valued more than human lives. Imho.

or wait...was your whole post sarcastic? Oh well, apologies if I missed your point. If there was one!

Diesel_dyk : come on enough with the 'we saved europe twice' bullshit. Gets so old. That seems to be one of the US's prime excuses for any old shit. 'Hell we saved you guys, TWICE! So fuck you!'

blah blah tbh, it doesn't wash an excuse anymore.

You, personally, did fuck all, as did no-one on this forum. And while not eating may be a sign of poverty, I repeat - being fat isn't a sign of success (at least not necessarily, although some successful people are fat fuckers). It's s sign of not looking after yourself, not eating well, not exercising, being lazy, and, often, being poor - because it's cheaper to eat McDs than eat a balanced meal for a lot of people. It gets a bit desperate if some of yuou Americans are saying 'we're fat! Look at us! er...USA USA!??'
