Maybe that's why he started supporting Arsenal, Beckham (amongst other things) was what made me start supporting United, I'm not gonna support each team he moves to though.

Why would you support United because of Beckham, I'm always amazed when 'genuine' football fans show their appreciation for Becks, I've always thought he was hugely overrated and that he was only popular because the tabloids turned him and his Spice girl wife into celebrities, yeah he did some things in his career, but really, still a massively overrated footballer. Especially for actual fans of football. You know, the real people.
I was like 5 Skittles, and I share the same bday with him, plus you cannot deny that he was an amazing footballer at United. His goal against Wimbledon helped too.
Arsenal. My dad grew up a stone's throw from their stadium.
I became a Manchester United fan because my fathers hero when he was young was one of the players who died in the 1958 Munich air disaster. He had kept loads of match programmes and magazine/newspaper articles from the Busby Babes era, and even named my brother after his idol. My following United came from looking through all that stuff as a youngster and developed from there.
"My best moment? I have a lot of good moments but the one I prefer is when I kicked the hooligan." - Eric Cantona.
Why is that a funny reason? Lots of people like the Chicago Bulls because they liked Michael Jordan. Wonder why they didn't support the Wizards when he switched teams? Are you for real or just trying to troll me?ruisleipa wrote:
no don't need a flow chart...why don't you support barca if the only reason you 'support' arsenal is because of a player who no longer plays for them? I agree, Henry is a brilliant player (although he's also a cheating fucka) but seems like a funny reason to support a team, that's all.KEN-JENNINGS wrote:

I can make a flow chart if you'd like.
no i'm not trying to troll you mate, I'm serious. I mean, you start following a team cos of one player, then he moves to another team, the mainr eason you support that team is now elsewhere so why wouldn't you then foloow the player to their next team? If that's why you start following a team. Dunno shit abour basketball but yeah why didn't people follow that Jordan fella when he switched teams? I dunno. In general I find it hard to understand when people from other countries who have no connection with a football team declare themselves 'fans' for some reason. I mean, you should support your local football team innit, which is why I don't support any premiership bag o'shiteKEN-JENNINGS wrote:

I dont fullu support any of them but have soft spots for West Ham and Man Utd, Im also falling for Arsenal a bit due to Aaron Ramey, once my most hated team (Arsenal) and now more than torrable (I made that word up)
Lierpoo since the nineties. Had to pick a team when playing The Manager on Amiga as a kid. That developed into being a fan.
Manchester United. I was born in Altrincham in Trafford so lived quite close to Old Trafford for years and used to watch them every home game possible with my dad.

There are tons of people that become a fan of their team because a special player played there. Henry at Arsenal is a perfect example. Flo at Chelsea. Solskjær at Man U. Beckham at Man U. Ronaldinho at Barca.
They love the player, they follow his team, and therefore fall in love with the team. When the player moves, you still love the team. Thousands of fans have found their team like this. I have no idea what you're talking about.
Also Kobe/Shaq at Lakers.
And hell, it's perfectly fine to support a PL team. It's natural, really, it being the best league in the world.

I mean, I started supporting PSG because Ronaldinho, before he was a dick. And I started supporting Arsenal because of Henry.
